MLB Injuries: June 29, 2022 – Updates

Archie Bradley fractured

MLB news

The Anaheim Angelinos not only lost several players due to suspension but also one of their relievers, Archie Bradley.

The experienced pitcher fractured his right elbow during the scrimmage against the Seattle Mariners when he fell into his team’s dugout and, according to Sam Blum of The Athletic, will miss several months after undergoing surgery.

Bradley posted a 4.82 ERA with 1.28 WHIP in 21 appearances this season before landing on the injured list.

Kenley Jansen has arrhythmia yet again

MLB news

Atlanta Braves closer Kenley Jansen was placed on the 15-day injured list for an irregular arrhythmia.

Jansen has had abnormal heartbeats throughout his career, the first time being in 2011, when he had a catheter ablation in his left atrium after the 2012 season. He then underwent a second catheter ablation procedure after the 2018 season.

Jansen last pitched last Sunday against his former team, the Dodgers, and this season he has a 3.58 ERA in 32.2 innings for Atlanta, with whom he has already rescued 20 games.

Bryce Harper out for six weeks

MLB news

After suffering a fracture last Saturday from a ball to his left thumb, according to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki, Bryce Harper will undergo surgery that will cause him to miss at least six weeks of playing.

The outfielder believes he will be able to heal fast and return to his job as designated hitter, which he played in 55 of the 64 games he should have played due to right elbow soreness.

Zach Davies to the injured list

MLB Injuries as of June 29, 2022

The Arizona Rattlers lost one of their best starters after having to place Zach Davies on the 15-day injured list.

The right-hander is dealing with right shoulder inflammation, which will keep him out of the bullpen for at least two weeks and will prevent him from pitching well for Arizona in 2022. Davies has been linked to a team in playoff contention after producing a 3.94 EFE in 80 innings.
