This Sunday, November 20, the last race of the Formula 1 calendar will be held. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022 promises to be an exciting event in which the 2nd and 3rd places in the Drivers’ Championship will be decided.
First place is already secured by Max Verstappen after his victory in Japan, but his teammate Sergio “Checo” Pérez could secure the runner-up spot if he overtakes Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, with whom he is tied on points (290).
As it is, Red Bull Racing will do everything in their power to secure the top two places in the Drivers’ Championship and the victory in the Constructors’ Championship. They last thing left on their 2022 bucket list is to secure Checo’s position. On the other hand, Ferrari will cling to Charles Leclerc’s second place, as it is all they are left with in their dramatic season.

Max Verstappen (Odds +125)
First we have the controversial champion of the 2022 season, Max Verstappen. The Belgian, although he has dominated Formula 1 incredibly this year, has proven to be a great disappointment due to his most recent argument with his team while racing in the Brazilian GP last weekend, as he did not let Checo Pérez pass him for second place on the podium to secure more points.
Thus, even though he has the best chance of winning, his team may prevent him from doing so in order to give Checo a chance and keep the runner-up position.
Lewis Hamilton (Odds +250)
In second place, we have the legendary Lewis Hamilton, who has steadily improved as the races went by this season. Surprisingly, this year he has not had a single victory; however, in the last three competitions, he has finished in second place in the podium, which are added to the other six podium positions he has achieved in other races this year.
Following his teammate George Russell’s victory in Brazil, the team is likely to arm itself in support of its first driver, Hamilton, to grant him his first and only victory of 2022.
George Russell (Odds +350)
In third place, we have the man of the hour: George Russell. The English Mercedes driver is at the top of his competitive career so far after winning his first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Brazil last weekend. With this immense achievement behind him, he will certainly want to taste victory once again in the last race of the year.
He has been arguably Mercedes’ best driver this season, and, although he already has his fourth place in the Drivers’ Championship secured, he may want to repeat his luck from last weekend.
Checo Pérez (Odds +800)
Now, we all know the courage and skill the Mexican driver, Checo Pérez, has behind the wheel. According to his own words, Max Verstappen has won two Formula 1 championships because of him, and that’s true. He is a highly defensive and competitive driver who knows how to race as part of a team. However, after his argument in Brazil with Verstappen, he may be racing against his teammate at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to overtake Charles Leclerc.
Charles Leclerc (Odds +1000)
Our second sleeper pick is the Monegasque Charles Leclerc, who races for Scuderia Ferrari. This driver is hanging on by a thread for second place in the Drivers’ Championship. In addition, in the last two races, he has failed to score a podium finish, but has continued to score points. He will certainly race the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with the intention of holding on to the runner-up position he has been fighting for all year, as he has 290 points as Checo Pérez.
Carlos Sainz Jr. (Odds +1400)
Finally, there is Spain’s Carlos Sainz Jr. This driver is in sixth position in the championship, behind the Mercedes drivers. Last year, he came in third place in this same circuit and will want to beat this record. However, we consider him the dark horse because Ferrari will certainly prioritize the runner-up position of Charles Leclerc.

All in all, the driver most likely to win this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is Checo Pérez. With his skills to spare and the sure reprimand the team will have given Max Verstappen, they will race together with the determination to achieve Formula 1’s best overall positions for the season.
