Betting on the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns
- Season record: 5-5.
- Spread: +24.0.
- Moneyline from BetMGM: (+1300).
- Over/Under: 52.
The Ragin Cajuns want to earn a bowl invitation and to do so, they must close the season in the best way possible against Florida State and Texas State.
However, they won’t have an easy task this week, facing one of the best defenses in the nation. Louisiana’s offense, their greatest strength, which averages 141.3 yards per game, should have a huge night on the ground. In recent games, this performance has been much better, as they have run for at least 200 yards in three of the last four games they’ve played.
On the defensive side Louisiana has also been doing well, but it might not be enough against the powerful Seminoles’ ground offense. Their greatest weakness is their passing defense, as they allow their opponents an average of 230.8 yards per game. Overall, they only allow an average of 21.9 points per game.
Betting on the Florida State Seminoles
- Season record: 7-3.
- Spread: -24.0.
- Moneyline from BetMGM: (-3000).
- Over/Under: 52.
The Seminoles have slowly been climbing up the ranks among the nation’s top teams and are expected to finish the season with two solid wins before bowl season play.
Florida State has been relentless on defense and has outscored its opponents 134-22 in its last three victories, while not allowing a touchdown in either of the last two games. They also rank 13th with an average of 18.1 points allowed per game, and they are the second-lowest team in the country by passing yards allowed per game (155.0).
On offense, like Louisiana, their lethal weapon is the ground game. They currently have a streak of five consecutive games of at least 200 yards on the ground and rank 16th in the nation with an average of 213.6 yards on the ground per game.
Louisiana’s season hasn’t been bad, but the Seminoles are in a great place right now, as their offense and defense are at their best.
In order to have any chance, the Ragin Cajuns must stop the Seminoles ground attack as they have a 0-4 record when allowing more than 140 yards on the ground. The problem is that Florida State only ran for less than that mark twice.
Prediction: Florida State Spread.
