The second meeting between the 49ers vs Seahawks this season will take place on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 15 of the NFL. This game is crucial for both teams.
Despite the injuries, the San Francisco team added its sixth straight victory after defeating the Buccaneers 7-35 to prove that it is still unbeatable. Seattle’s 30-24 loss to the Panthers on Sunday, on the other hand, complicated matters. In the first match, the 49ers got the better of the two teams, winning 7-27 .

Betting on the San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers could clinch the NFC West lead, and thus their berth in the postseason, with a win over the division rival Seahawks on Thursday.
In the brief time he has been leading the team’s attack, rookie Brock Purdy has proven to be worth of his position, and having his postseason berth secured may be a crucial step in helping him feel more confident heading into the final weeks of play. Deebo Samuel’s ability to recuperate from an ankle injury he sustained against the Buccaneers, which doesn’t appear to be serious will also be crucial for the 49ers.
Given that San Francisco has one of the top three defensive units in the league and that with points on their side it will be nearly impossible for opponents to beat them, that offensive performance may be considered to be their life insurance. The 49ers are the only team in the NFL that has given up less points (197) and fewer yards to the opposition’s offense (976) while defending the ground game.
Betting on the Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks’ chances of making the playoffs have been hindered by three defeats in their previous four games. They are currently out of the playoffs and a game and a half behind the Giants and Commanders for the last NFC wild card.
Besides that, they must win on Sunday in front of their home crowd if they are to try to overtake the 49ers. They must, of course, perform better against the Panthers, a team whose defense is good but far from San Francisco’s. They committed two turnovers against Carolina, their third straight game, and had their third-lowest share of first downs with 16.
However, Seattle’s biggest problem is not in their QB Geno Smith, but in what their defense can do. The Seahawks allowed 30 points to a Panthers’ offense that had only reached that number once before, while San Francisco has scored more than three dozen points in four of its last six games.
While the 49ers have been gradually getting better on the ground, Seattle is the second team in the league with the most points allowed: they are a complete disaster, giving up 18 points on the ground.
While the 49ers have not fared very well in recent seasons against the Seahawks, this year the reality seems to be different and while Seattle is excited about fighting for the postseason, Sunday’s game doesn’t look easy for them.
With an offense that hasn’t slowed down despite Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury and a defense that gave up only seven points in the first game, San Francisco appears to be in good shape. Additionally, the Over has a 3-0-1 record in the past four games played in Seattle and a 6-2-1 record in the previous nine times these two teams have met.
Prediction: Over (SF 28 – SEA 23).
