Facing the 2022-23 NFL season, the Houston Texans have added cornerback Steven Nelson to their roster after agreeing to a two-year, $10 million contract, according to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson.

Nelson was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles last season, where he played 16 games as a starter. His performance included seven pass breakups and one interception.

As a result of the deal, the Texan team strengthens its defensive corps after a season in which they finished third in the AFC South Division with a terrible record of 4 wins and 13 losses.

In addition, this move by the Houston team comes in direct response to the fact that they are coming off a finish of 23rd in the NFL in pass defense.

Texans will be Nelson’s fourth team after being taken in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft and having played with Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles.

Steven Nelson began his professional soccer career with the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2015 season. After 7 seasons in the NFL, he records 98 appearances (84 as a starter), with 93 yards through 8 interceptions.

We are not talking about a star player at the cornerback position but, with the exception of his rookie season, he has been able to hold his own in the starting defensive corps of every team he has played for in the NFL.

According to analysts who follow everything that happens with the Houston Texans during the offseason, Nelson should have no problem earning the responsibility of being an important piece in slowing down opposing teams’ offenses.
