In a new edition of the UFC Fight Nightone of the preliminary fights of the night will be the strawweight showdown Hill vs Godínez: two figures that were supposed to face each other next October, but after a couple of cancelled fights, it was moved forward to this date.
The Mexican-Canadian Godínez comes into the bout as a super favorite, even though she has only had one fight in 2022. For her part, the experienced Hill will have to fight against her age and the odds to stay within the division’s rankings.

While her record doesn’t bode well for this fight, Angela Hill hasn’t had such bad performances. Despite losing five of her last six fights, the American has lost three of them by controversial split decisions to Claudia Gadelha, Michelle Waterson-Gómez and Amanda Lemos.
Against Godínez, she will have to appeal to her good defense against falls if she does not want to have a very bad time on the canvas and put aside her negative streak. Hill always puts on good fights and takes advantage of her opponents’ moments of confusion thanks to her experience in the octagon.
- Odds: -350.
- Record: 8-2-0.
- Age: 28.
- Height: 1.57 m.
- Weight: 52.2 kg.
- Reach: 1.55 m.
The popular “Loopy” arrives fresh and eager to continue climbing the division when she takes on Hill in a fight that many believe will be a comfortable one for the fighter who defeated Ariane Carnelossi last May at UFC 274.
With impressive punching power and high-level physical endurance, Godínez has quickly climbed up the division, and a win over her opponent would put her on the radar for some very good fights in the near future. The key for her is to try to knock Hill down and use all her strength on the canvas.
Despite the experience Angela Hill may bring to the octagon this Saturday, unfortunately for her, Lupita Godínez looks far superior for the fight.
While her takedown defense is very good, Godínez has much more strength both physically and in each of her punches, so what Hill can do to stop her may not be enough.
Pick: Lupita Godínez by submission.
